Bag Workshop

While studying at Politecnico di Milano, the accessory design course required a final outcome of a bag and two other products. This is the bag I designed and prototyped. The brief, titled "Second Chance, First Choice," inspired me to use old camping nylon material to create a functional side waist bag.

Mood

For the "Second Chance, First Choice" brief, focused on reuse, the moodboard blends sharp, angular shapes with soft, rounded edges, capturing a balance between tension and flow. The muted color palette is lifted by the vibrant emerald green, symbolizing renewal and transformation.

Initial Ideation

These sketches represent my initial concepts, influenced by the professor’s emphasis on functionality. This shift challenged me to balance aesthetics with practicality, leading me to rethink my design approach.

Concepts

These are summaries of the shapes I liked from my designs. I generated the texture to show how the concept of the nylon would pair with the silver, which I found visually appealing. The bottom right image shows the original design.

Technical Drawing

This technical drawing showcases the final design, including the silver pendant and repurposed chain. All views of the product are presented.

Aesthetic

This is how I envisioned and designed the bag while considering its position on the user. I aimed for it to sit comfortably on either side, ensuring both style and functionality.
